Biography

Amber Rivera was born in Tampa, Florida and began performing at an early age.  Her dance training began at just three years old and throughout her youth; she performed several times at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center as well as in numerous school and community productions.   
At the age of 12, Amber was relocated to Puerto Rico where she joined the Company of Modern Dance in San German and began vocal training at the prestigious Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.  During this time, Amber modeled in fashion shows and in print, winning several competitions on the island, while also working in commercials and performing on television.
Always knowing that she wanted to be a professional actor, Amber made the big move to NYC to train at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  After graduating from the Drama Studio program, she returned to Puerto Rico for a year and continued to work in commercials and in print.  She won the annual “Caras de Avon” competition, becoming the national spokesmodel for Avon cosmetics and Caras magazine.  
In 2004, Amber returned to NYC and has since been working as a professional actor, model and performer.  She starred in the short film Disconnected Images, which premiered at the Coney Island Film Festival as well as in the bilingual short No Excuses/ Sin Excusas and in the Spanish language film Ambiciones Siniestras.  On stage, Amber directed and starred in Merger of Equals and has performed in South Pacific, The World to Come and Can’noli Happen in NY.  Recently, she has appeared in commercials for Time Warner, Pizza Hut, Monster.com, and Burlington Coat Factory and can be heard in spots for Neutrogena and Airheads Candies.  In addition, Amber can be seen in print campaigns for JC Penney, Adidas and Verizon among others.   
She is a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and of the Screen Actors Guild.
Amber enjoys spending her free time reading, watching movies, and going to her favorite restaurants with her fiancée.
